first_imgVodafone Ireland has issued a statement confirming that the service issues experienced by customers in relation to making and receiving calls in The Rosses has been resolved.Donegal Daily ran a feature last week regarding the technical issues that was causing widespread frustration and anger in the area.The issues had been on-going since December and had been gradually getting worse with some customers unable to get mobile coverage for days. However, Vodafone Ireland have today issued a statement in which they can now announce that the service has now been fully restored.“Vodafone Ireland wants to update customers in the Rosses area who may have been experiencing issues making and receiving calls and sending texts that service is now restored. “Engineers were on site last week and again this week to restore service. “Due to high winds and the remote location, it was difficult to access the site and in line with health and safety, we have been restoring the parts of the site that were safe to access during each visit. “We are now glad to inform our customers that service is fully restored. “We know that people’s mobiles are key for staying in touch so we want to apologise for any inconvenience this has caused to our customers. “We want to reassure our customers that we are committed to investing in and upgrading our network and to delivering the best network service.Network upgrades in Donegal:Separate to this specific issue in The Rosses, we are currently upgrading our network across the North West as part of our nationwide network upgrade programme including the rollout of 4G – superfast mobile data. The upgrade means that customers in across Donegal will experience benefits such as significantly improved voice calls and get data everywhere they currently can make a call.In addition, they will also have access to 4G which gives superfast mobile data speeds.This will provide benefits such as seamless music streaming, watching videos without buffering and instant file and photo upload.During the upgrades customers may experience temporary disruptions.
