first_imgHURLING: A sensational first-half performance from Down inflicted yet another defeat for Donegal’s hurlers this afternoon at O’Donnell Park.Donegal are still searching for their first league win of the season, and a devastating first-half display dispelled any hopes of Ardal McDermott’s side earning their first win. 3-11 from a rampant Down side in the opening period – meant that it was damaged limitation exercise in the second-half.Donegal to their credit battled gamely throughout the match, but were simply outclassed by an excellent Down side.Down have ambitions of promotion this season, and look a side determined to achieve that.Donegal will face a relegation play-off in order to consolidate their position, but Ardal McDermott is confident they can achieve that.
