According to that document, the fund will continue the firm’s focus on investment in early and growth stage technology companies in the U.S. and expand its investment efforts in those same sorts of early stage companies in China.Sequoia has been an investor in some of Silicon Valley’s most successful companies – Apple, Cisco, Google, YouTube. Most recently, the firm invested $27.5 million into Square, the mobile payment startup founded by Twitter creator Jack Dorsey.Sequoia has not formally announced the new fund, which could ultimately be larger than the $1.3 billion in yesterday’s filing.
