Samsung Galaxy Fold may offer a smaller battery than Galaxy A70, new leak suggests

first_imgSamsung’s upcoming Galaxy Fold foldable smartphone is assumed to come with a large battery because it is going to be a large device with two AMOLED display, one of which is said to be around 7 inches in size. While it was previously rumoured that the device would offer two batteries with a total of around 6,200mAh, a new report claims a much smaller battery. In fact, the rumoured Galaxy A70 smartphone may just get a bigger battery in comparison.According to a report by GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Fold will come with two 2,190mAh batteries which makes a total of 4,380mAh. The batteries were spotted with model numbers EB-BF900ABU and EB-BF901ABU and are considered to be related to the Galaxy Fold. The report further reveals some information about the Galaxy A70, claiming the phone will come with a 4,400mAh battery capacity. If true, this means the Galaxy A70 offers a bigger battery than the Galaxy Fold, and is 400mAh bigger than the Galaxy Note 9 as well.Samsung looks far more confident this year in increasing the size of its batteries in smartphones than ever before. Last year, the company released the Galaxy Note 9 with a 4,000mAh battery after playing it safe the year before following a major Galaxy Note 7 battery issue in 2016. This year, Samsung will be releasing its first smartphone with a massive 5,000mAh battery with the Galaxy M20, which is due to launch in India on January 28.The Galaxy Fold will most likely go official alongside the Galaxy S10 series on February 20 at the company’s Unpacked event. As for the Galaxy A70, not much is known at this time about its release date. What we do know from rumours is that the Galaxy A70 will be powered by a Exynos 9610 chipset based on a 10nm process and will sport an AMOLED display.
