Honor 20 series launch set for today: Expected specs and livestream details

first_imgHonor is all set to launch the Honor 20 series in London today. The flagship series is expected to see the launch of the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro based on what we have heard so far. The company will likely announce the Honor 20 Lite as well, which has been available in some markets already. The flagship duo are tipped to come with punch-hole displays, quad cameras and the latest Kirin 980 processor, among other things.The launch of the Honor 20 series is especially interesting as it comes just a day after Google announced that it was pulling its services from Huawei. This means that future Huawei and Honor devices will not have access to Google apps and neither will they get Android updates. The Honor 20 series will likely be the last of Honor’s phones that will support Android apps and updates.Honor will be livestreaming the global launch of the Honor 20 series on its official YouTube channel. Following its launch in London, the Honor 20 series will be coming to India on June 11 and will go on sale on Flipkart.Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro expected specificationsThe Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro will look similar in that they will both offer full-screen displays with a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. They will come with premium glass backs and quad cameras, but will largely differ in size. The regular Honor 20 is said to sports a 6.26-inch FHD+ display, while the the Honor 20 Pro should get a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen. Both the devices are expected to come with LCD panels and a side fingerprint sensor rather than an in-display sensor, according to latest information by Winfuture.de.advertisementThe Honor flagship phones are also expected to rock the Kirin 980 chipset based on a 7nm process. The flagships will ship with Android Pie with Magic UI 2.1 on top, which is Honor’s take on EMUI 9.The Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro should also come with quad camera that is said to include a 48-megapixel primary Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor. There will be two additional 2-megapixel sensors as per Roland Quandt’s report where one will be used for macro shots while the other will come in handy for depth photos.As for the battery capacities, the smaller Honor 20 is said to come with a 3,750mAh battery, while the Pro model could house a 4,000mAh capacity. Both the handsets should support 22.5W fast charging over Type-C.
