ESPN.How warm is Brian Kelly’s seat in South Bend, Ind.?Notre Dame is 4-7 this season and, Tuesday, the NCAA announced the Fighting Irish have to vacate all wins from the 2012 and ’13 seasons due to academic misconduct. While Notre Dame’s athletic director said earlier this fall that Brian Kelly would be returning to the sideline in 2017, many are now starting to question if that’ll change.ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit weighed in on Kelly’s job security in an interview with the Chicago Tribune:“When you first hear it, and based on results on the field this year, you wonder how some of the Notre Dame alums will feel,” Herbstreit said. “At the same time, for me, I think he has done a lot of good there. I think you have to hear his side of story, see how he reacts. I don’t think you can say: ‘He’s had one bad season and now this and then you get rid of him.’“I know it’s awful easy to say he’s in trouble, but I hope they learn from this, tighten things up and move forward.”You can read the Tribune’s full story here.Notre Dame is set to play against USC on Saturday.
