More Aussies land in America

first_imgSource = e-Travel Blackboard: N.J The strong Aussie dollar is working in favour of US tourism with up to 17 percent more Australians visiting the States in June this year compared to the corresponding month last year.US Department of Commerce statistics found Aussie travellers ranked in as the fourth top arrivals for the month following travellers from Germany, Brazil and China.The rise from Australia contributed to America’s four percent increase in overall international visitors for the month compared to June 2010.For the year ending June 2011, 23 percent more Aussie travellers flew into the US compared to the same period last year, while the number of travellers from China jumped by 32 percent more.   Visitors from Brazil also spiked for the year, with an extra 28 percent arrivals from the South American country, while Japan based arrivals dropped by up to seven percent.Overall for the year compared to the corresponding 12 months 2010, America welcomed up to 12.5 million overseas arrivals, a six percent jump on the previous period.last_img
